Cement, marble, paper
A participatory performance, installation, photography, and text reflecting on encounters with the pavements of Athens.
Shown at Common Ground, an exhibition exploring the complexities of extractivism and its impact on the people, places, and cultures in and around Athens during the Shared Campus: Critical Ecologies and Ecologial Resonances residency. Experiences from this two-week programme were shared through film, performance, sculpture, and storytelling.
The residency saw artists immersing in the Thriasio Plain to learn from the rural land and post-industrial environments, sharing insights and stories together with local communities. Attempting to unbind from the quotidian extractivist logic, the artists explored, experimented, and played in order to open up spaces of care, remediation, and repair, building narratives that acknowledge the co-dependencies in which we exist.
Facilitated by Shared Campus in collaboration with the Syn+ergasia Art Platform and the Cultural Centre of Aspropyrgos, hosted by [SIC] Space for International Cooperation.
